A funeral policy is insurance that pays out a cash amount to help your family cover funeral costs when you or a loved one passes away.
Premiums start from as little as R150 pm depending on the level of cover and the number of people on your policy.
No, our policies are cash payouts, so your family can choose any funeral provider anywhere in South Africa. Thom Kight & Company Funeral Directors (Pty) Ltd has been supporting families since 1981, but there’s no obligation to use our funeral services.
Yes, you can update your policy or cancel it anytime. Please note that funeral policies don’t offer cash back when cancelled.

You can cover your spouse or partner, and up to five children.
Cover ranges from R22 000 to R37 000 depending on the plan you choose.
The first day of the calendar month following the date that premiums are received by the Insurer for the first time. This is the date that cover for accidental death becomes effective and the 6 month natural death waiting period commences.
If you miss a premium, your policy will be in arrears, if you miss a second premium your policy will lapse and the cover will cease.
Once all required documents have been submitted and the claim is approved, the payout will be made within 48 hours. Thom Kight funeral products are administered by Phakama Administration Services (Pty) Ltd, FSP 1473.
Yes, the policy is underwritten by King Price Life Insurance Limited, a licensed insurer.
